InstantNewsNetwork.com Unveils Mobile News Station 2008; Delivers Three to FortBendNow.com

InstantNewsNetwork.com selected the Chevrolet HHR to serve as the company’s Mobile News Station for 2008. The keys to three of these customized vehicles were delivered to the mobile journalists (Mo-Jo) at FortBendNow.com on Monday.

"We will change the way neighborhood news is delivered," said Bob Dunn, editorial director for InstantNewsNetwork.com. "Our delivery platform is electronic and our product niche is very local and timely neighborhood news."

Each Mo-Jo will be responsible for four to seven daily electronic postings (at least one being a video story or interview). Through the synergy of the internet and Mo-Jo, InstantNewsNetwork.com renovates reporting neighborhood news from a weekly or monthly event to an every day, all-day event.

"The fire engine red color, and the FortBendNow.com branding, will be a magnet for news tips," added Dunn. Also, each vehicle has a unique "News Tip" phone number and e-mail address prominently branded on both sides of the vehicle. With the Mobile News Station, each Mo-Jo was assigned a toolkit.

Mo-Jo toolkit

  • Broadcast quality video camera (MPEG-4): This recording quality is commonly referred to as "TV quality" resolution because it matches the resolution and frame rate seen in TV broadcasts.
  • Dell Vostro 1400 laptop: Each equipped with mobile hi-speed internet to post content from anywhere – 24/7.
  • Treo 750 Smartphone: The Palm Treo 750 has wireless e-mail and web access, broadband speed, and Microsoft Office.

The Mo-Jo will be able to edit and file text, images, sound and video footage, and produce and publish multimedia stories of broadcast quality without needing to go to a traditional office.

InstantNewsNetwork.com bought FortBendNow.com in November 2007 and plans to launch constantly updated neighborhood news sites across Houston and Dallas. Within 18 months, InstantNewsNetwork.com expects to be managing more than 20 neighborhood news web sites in key Houston and Dallas markets.
